Back in June, in "The White House 'Big Brother' Data Base," I stated: "Meanwhile, over at the White House, senior aides are in a panic. Is the WHODB system related to the PROMIS software? they want to know. Is there a back door to the system? Have files been downloaded?"
I didn't answer my own questions, but freely told people in email that the info had been downloaded and turned over to Kenneth Starr.
Today (Sunday, August 18), almost two months later, the morning TV talk shows are discussing that "someone" or "some group" downloaded the White House data base (WHODB).
Well, the news media is still guessing, so let me tell you the facts. The data base was downloaded by an individual, and it was an authorized action under congressional legislation pertaining to national security.
The information was turned over to the Special Prosecutor, and the criminal actions of the White House will not go uninvestigated or unpunished.
The White House is mad as hell about this. But then so is any individual whose fingerprints are found on a murder weapon.
But, heh, yo, White House: There is still time to get your money back from Pulsar Data Systems, isn't there? Or maybe you can just get Planning Research Corporation to fix that back door under their general maintenance contract?
